The Day I Turned 16 And Joined The RAF
I left home, the place where I spent my childhood, and never really every went back. I was trained in the mysteries of radar, practical and theoretical. It was unexpertly mind expanding in terms of social interactions and my perception of the world and the values I had be inculcated to believe in. In essence it provided a complete break with the somewhat narrow world I had experienced as a growing child and young teenager.
