Piano With A Ten Mile View

 

downsIn the nineteen fifties, stationed at RAF Tangmere, a good friend, Lila Horne, who came from Bedford, invited me to an al freco minor rave. It was to take place on a high spot of The Dunstable Downs, some 243m above sea level. The scene of the happening included an upright piano, transported by pick-up truck, and deposited amongst a small group of trees.
