Robert Maxwell Sent Me to Survey a Site for a Potential University Bookshop

Just a few days after taking up my post as assistant manager in The Robert Maxwell Bookshop, Oxford. I went to Manchester to survey the feasibility of opening a University Bookshop. We were met by, perhaps the prime mover, a youngish academic with a somewhat obvious agenda. He failed to apply the first rule of selling, negotiation, any situation where something is going to be decided. Know exactly who is the decision maker.
